Letters from Istanbul - MFNU

Letters to THIMUN 2010 participants
by Haldun ANIL, DSG of MFNU 2010 in Istanbul

Hi everyone !

I want to talk to you about a well-established MUN conference that'll be changing address this year. The MFNU - le Modèle Francophone des Nations Unies -, the only French MUN conference in the world and located in the Hague at the Lycée Vincent Van Gogh, will be holding its 6th session in Istanbul on the 9th and 10th of April.  We would like to invite you all to participate in this one of a kind conference and would like all of you to keep in mind that this conference is not only aimed at native speakers of the French language, but at everyone who is motivated and has a proficiency level in French at B1 or above (much more important however, is enthusiasm for participating and learning more that way!)  We’ll be making your experience an unforgettable one! I'd also like to invite all of you to the MFINUE, as the offspring of MFNU as we try to establish more French-medium conferences in the world, and this one again in the exciting European Cultural Capital for 2010 that is fast-moving Istanbul! Come and meet Turkish hospitality, experience the vibrancy of Istanbul, and take your French to new heights, all in a unique MUN event where new friends will be found and older friendships deepened!
For more info regarding either one of these conferences, you can contact Mr. Alain Meidinger, the organizer of the MFNU series of conferences, Dominique Cosse,  Secretary General of the 6th MFNU, or me in the GA4 committee - I'm the Head of Delegation for UNICEF -.  Also here and able to inform is Dr. John Israel, my MUN advisor.
Visit the MFNU site from the Lycée Vincent Van Gogh online at www.mfnu.org.
Thank you and hope to see you all,
Haldun ANIL

____________________________________________________________________

Hello again everyone !

This time around, I'd like to explain to you all a new initiative in the MUN world: the second French MUN conference for Istanbul – a multilingual city for centuries, where the first French-medium school teaching Turkish students was founded in the 15th century! We want to welcome you to our eye-opening European Capital of Culture.  If you couldn’t make it to the 6th MFNU, then there’s little excuse!  Come to the MFINUE conference in November!
The first session of the MFINUE - le Modèle Francophone International des Nations Unies en Eurasie - will take place in the spectacularly-located, historic Lycée Français St. Joseph from 19th to 21st November 2010.
You're all invited to the first session of our new, THIMUN-style Eurasian conference and please know that, just like the MFNU, its counterpart and progenitor, you needn't worry about not being a native-speaker of French: all you need is motivation and the will to learn and communicate in this official UN and world language!
For more information, please contact me in the GA4 committee - I'm the Head of Delegation for UNICEF, or my co-organiser Berkay Uçan in the GA1 committee for France.
Also here and able to inform is Dr. John Israel, my MUN advisor.
See too the details online at www.mfinue.org.
Looking forward to all of your questions,
Haldun ANIL and Berkay UÇAN
